County Apprenticeships
Calvert County Public Schools provides a range of youth apprenticeship opportunities, encompassing both traditional and non-traditional pathways. This diversity ensures flexibility for businesses of various types, making the implementation of youth apprenticeships feasible across a broad spectrum of industries. Some of the current industries include: Childcare, Marine Technician, Graphic Installation, Hospitality, Graphic Design, and more.
The county is looking to expand their youth apprenticeship program into the career fields of IT, dental hygienist, HVAC Tech and Auto Tech, research & development.
Current Career and Technical Education
The existence of comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Calvert County Public Schools , coupled with established curricula, presents a strategic avenue for the seamless formulation of youth apprenticeship programs. By capitalizing on the infrastructure already in place through CTE programs, business owners, alongside the LEA, can effectively streamline the development of shared curriculum, optimizing available resources and ensuring a unified educational experience for students.
